I have been trying to take some better pictures now that normal life has resumed in the WH, but I'm just not very good at it. I am extremely pleased with my new teapot though- only Marks and Spencer, but unlike my Heals one I don't feel too frightened to use it.
The rescued dresser. I think I'm probably hankering after a country kitchen at heart, despite my glass and corian actual kitchen! We need yet more bookshelves so I can display more of our china.
I love roses - they're so retro, somehow, and unlike lots of flowers they seem to grow old gracefully - no pollen ( lilies) or incredibly stinky water ( glads) to deal with. Here they are in our hall with the gilt mirror I bought in Lewisham in 1996 and to which I am strangely attached, to my husband's bemusement. I've got an even bigger one which sits over the fireplace and which I think he's equally unkeen on!

You must be so happy that all the work has come to an end and that your family now have the house back. Spare a thought for us, we are moving out this weekend so our builders can move in. Perfectly timed with a 3 week holiday home to Australia to visit my family. Hopefully this means we will only have a few weeks living with my in-laws when we return.
its looking even better now Georgie you must be pleased! the finishing touches are the fun bit as well :-) thanks for your comment by the way - yes that is our garden :-) We had to buy a ride on mower for it which hubby loves of course but disappears for hours !!!!!!!!

Oh, good luck Maraka - I don't envy you! Hope they get as much done as you hope when you're away! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
Well I am v envious of your garden Lesley - although it's probably just as well we've only got a tiny one - as it is I have to pretty much lock my husband out there to get him to mow the tiny patch of grass we have got. Just researching tiny fold up lawnmowers which will fit in our shed - we need one that catches the grass as well, as the clean up job afterwards is worse than the actual mowing!
