I have a very serious question for you. I was in John Lewis this morning, ostensibly to buy a new blind for the bathroom, when I caught sight of a spotty rug and kind of impulse bought it. ( It was on offer and I couldn't resist it!) The thing is, do you think it's grown up enough for the sitting room or is it more suited to a bedroom - or even a child's room? I can't decide, mainly because I am blinded by my love of spots, but I need to make up my mind so that if it's going back I can get it packed up before the children roll round on it with jammy fingers. (Although if it's not right for the sitting room I might keep it anyway for our bedroom when it's finally revamped...!) I have just rushed home with it in the back of the car and flung it onto the floor for a look before nursery pick-up time.. you know how it is!
All opinions gratefully received. (And thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post, which always make my day!)
7pm update - My husband really likes it so it looks like we're keeping it. I'm amazed but very pleased!
I'm 39 and married with two children aged seven and four. I'm fatally attracted to house renovation projects, and this is our third in the last seven years, my personal fifth since I bought my first flat in 1996. I think we might have bitten off more than we can chew with the Worst House.
Our architect recently commissioned photographer Joel Knight to take some photos of the Worst House in its finished state. Have a look on his website at joelknightphotography (The Worst House is in a couple of pictures on his Architectural page under 'extensions'.)
You can also see some very scary photos of the Worst House under construction on our architect's site -architecture wk. (The Worst House is under selected projects/residential/Morley Road.)
And photographer Carl Pendle took some pictures of the Worst House in January for Real Homes Magazine - watch this space...
