Ah yes, Freecycle - I'd forgotten about that option - thanks for reminding me! I have been an enthusiastic giver-awayer in the past ( I freecycled my fridge freezer, baby car seat and 3 wheeler buggy) so I should have thought of that! I have put the sofa up and we'll see what happens!
Thanks for the furniture website tips too. I like the classic Florence Knoll sofa and the Barcelona chair, although I also rather fancy the French style grey and white sofa on the Maison du Monde site for our bedroom.
I'm on the prowl for a new rug too. I still love my spots but I am hankering after a change. I'm off to have a quick look round the shops while my daughter's at nursery! This leisurely life is going to end soon as I will be back at work in January, after four years at home with the kids. I think it's going to be a big shock for everyone involved ( not least the poor unsuspecting individuals in the office who will have to put up with me having forgotten everything I once thought I knew!)

Congratulations on your return to work. I feel the draw of the workplace as little one will start school next Sept and we will then have two sets of really hideously expensive school fees to pay....
Were you one a career break? Or is it a new job?
Scary, but how nice to have something that is totally just about you.
Thanks A and L. It's a career break so I'm theoretically going back to the same job - but four years seems like a long time away! On the other hand I am looking forward to the excuse to buy some new clothes and the chance to read the paper and drink my coffee in peace on the tube in the morning! (The district line starts at Richmond so I always get a seat!)
