Grey light, grey pictures

I've been trying for a couple of days to take some nice pictures of the new boudoir, but it's been so cold, grey and rainy that they've all come out looking as though we live at the bottom of a well. Here is a really dreadful one that I tried to adjust on iphoto, so it looks very unnatural. But you get the general idea! I had my grandfather's writing desk renovated and restored recently, with the intention of using it as a dressing table as soon as I find a pretty dressing table mirror. Note the smmmoootthh ceiling..!



And here is one of the new shower room, with all the lights on in the middle of the day. It is really very bright and cheery, honest! Even my mum, who claims to have loved the avocado, will have to admit it's a better use of the space!
